Pennisetum latifolia

A giant pennisetum growing to around 3 metres tall

Available as small potted plants soon. Similar looking, but quite distinctive from sugar cane. Large lush green leaves on strong cane like stems. Produces flowers in early autumn. Not likely to be very hardy perhaps similar in hardiness to canna. Plant in ground, perhaps dig up for winter and overwinter in a pot frost free, or mulch and leave in ground in light frost areas or pot grow. Minimum final pot size 20 litre.

Here planted out and dug up for winter and potted. Stored frost free.
