Rich orange flowers late summer to late autumn. Annual. Very attractive to bees and butterflies.
Very popular, also known as mexican sunflower. Full sun for best results but part shade ok, in fertile soil. Best watered in the morning until established when the plants can achieve 1.2 x 1.2 metres, possibly taller. Tends to be rather stunted in poorer soil. Flowers 7-9cm across are freely produced and very attractive to bees and butterflies. Initially sold in a small pot for £1
