Long season. Attractive to butterflies etc
Tall see through stems topped with pale purple flowers for a very long period Summer to early Autumn. Ideal for any position in the border or in pots. Best in full to half sun, probably in free draining soil. A very well known popular plant which attracts Butterflies, bees and Hummingbird Hawk-moths. A very good mixer. Good with bronze fennel. May not survive a very cold winter but self seeds. Plants can grow large to over 6 feet and in rich soil may need support. Best sheltered from strong winds or keep short as they respond well to pruning. Ht 1.5-8 feet/45-240cm. Spread 12-36 inches / 30-90cm. Typically, for me, they grow 3-5 feet tall and are quite wispy and don't need special support as if they are not standing freely they use neighbouring plants for support. Drought tolerant if not too lush and large.
Supplied in a 1 litre pot. Cut down for sending but will make new growth fast. Plant likely to be dry on arrival so water when unpacked if so.
