Hardy exotic to -8c perhaps -10c. Unique foliage plant.
Quite a special plant for structure and form. Blue/green foliage and purple veined bracts throughout the growing season. A shrub from Mexico, here it is likely to die down to ground level and grows as a herbaceous perennial. Height 4-6 feet 1.2-1.8m, spread the same. From the pea family, yellow terminal flowers may be produced but do not enhance the plants appearance. Leaves fold flat for the night opening fresh every morning.
A few only from late July.
