The following are my pick of the bunch for planting with carp,though there is no guarantee that your carp will  not see your water lily as a new toy and destroy it. You can mix the two together but the more space for swimming and exploring your carp have, the better chance for plants to esape their attentions! It is critical to introduce mature plants to the koi pond as otherwise they will soon be uprooted so you will need to grow on your water lily and then introduce it or buy a specimen sized one.
